Web 2.0 activism for Roma rights

Web 2.0 activism for Roma rights

Posted on 07 May by

A lot of things are currently happening in Romania on various issues regarding ethnic discrimination, especially in web 2.0 spaces. One such initiative to fight discrimination against the Roma people in Romania is this petition which deals with a recent declaration of the Prime-Minister, in a BBC World News show, on the 19th of March. The online petition was developed in partnership by Policy Center for Roma and Minorities, Active Watch and Impreuna Association, as a form of social activism, in order to raise awareness of this issue for the public and political agenda.

Also, the public reaction issued by the Policy Center for Roma and Minorities about the matter can be read here.
